The National Black Political Convention

Project Description

The National Black Political Convention returned to Gary, Indiana after 44 years in June 2016. The organizers  of the historic event realized that they needed a multifaceted approach to marketing the event and communicating its mission to attendees, supporters, and media. We were able to respond quickly to their urgent needs, turning around a complete event website in under three weeks.

Presented by the National Policy Alliance and hosted by the City of Gary, the NBPC 2016 rallied the regional community to bring together over two hundred professionals, educators, community leaders and residents. An accelerated timeline sometimes means scaling back expectations, but with tumblroute’s social media and content marketing push, NBPC 2016 yielded strong national sponsors and over 1,000 digital and print media mentions.

Attendees and sponsors praised the event website design and usability, and several partners specified the event’s digital presence as a factor in their decision to support the convention by sending their own delegation of attendees.
